a flux is an EMP grenade so to speak. EMP damages electronic circuitry and can also discharge batteries. this being said i feel that the flux should be retooled to do other things then destroy shields. lets take a look at what we have already.
you have an AV grenade. will not go off unless it comes in contact with a vehicle of any kind. then you have a locus grenade. meant to do explosive damage to anything around it at the end of its fuse time. then you have the flux grenade. that does damage to ONLY shields and equipment.
personally you already have a grenade that can hurt a suit so i think the flux needs a retool. my suggestion is to make it drain power and fry circuits like a normal EMP would. i know your thinking but it does drain power and fry circuits... no not really. the fry circuits it does have, keep that and even add to it. however the drain power im talking about anything that has a cap in it. things like an active scanner, or a cloaking device. when the flux grenade goes off the cloaker standing in it will show up because the charge in his cloaking unit was drained of all power. and same for the active scanner. the person with the scanner cant use it now till it recharges again because the charge in it was also drained keeping your team hidden for another 10 seconds. also mercs with uplinks and nanohives equipped will lose one of each as the flux will have fried it even while on you it shouldnt have to be deployed. the flux should be a counter weapon. i dont feel it should effect the shields as much as it does as the shields are created and sustained by a generator and thus is not a store of energy to be drained by a flux, however i do believe that the flux would effect the generator and for an amount of time stop the shields from recharging.
so to sum up: flux grenade will fry uplinks and nanohives both deployed AND still equipped to a suit. will reset charge timmers for active equipment like the active scanner and the cloaking device. lastly will keep a suit shield generator from recharging shields for an amount of time.

they also destroy equipment through walls. Plus higher level tech is easily hardened against nanites versus disposable battlefield equipment like nanohives and uplinks Etc.
They are a tactical weapon, you use them against heavy shield tanked suits (few and far between) but I use them on almost all my suits. they are still tactical with the change much more of a needed utility imo. and the heavly shielded dont need any more counters. they are already without logistical support where armor does have that advantage. and if you want to take out shields a locus does that gob just fine. both shields and armor.

Not for heavier shields, works well with minmatar tech, like a mass driver, trust me they are very strictly tactical, you can kill armor tanks if done right with remotes. I understand a standard locus kills militia frames, but I am talking advanced and Proto, nothing makes a true caldari run like getting hit with a flux. nothing also protects caldari logistically. you want to force a tanks shields down use an AV grenade as it was meant to be used. you want to kill a heavy suit use a locus grenade or an actual weapon.
as it stands there is no way to decloak a cloker or keep him from recloaking the moment he shot you. assuming you are alive after the first shot you can flux him and he remains uncloaked till his device regains half a charge... 30 sec. also to combat the equipment spam you can use a flux, with the added change you can combat that spam before they get a chance to deploy it. and at this moment what mechanic keeps a caldari heavy alive? his shield recharge. stop that and he is dead to rights. atleast now after the change he has a fighting chance before he goes down. and the most powerful tool on the battlefield is knowing where your enemy is... if you can flux the scanner and keep your teams movements hidden you have won half the battle. the other half is knowing where THEY are.
